LEARNING
Opportunities for Adult Learning, 2012–2013
As you read through this year's catalog, you will see that Shir Hadash is fulfilling its mission to provide new and exciting educational opportunities for adult learners. The Adult Education committee has worked hard to provide numerous courses, programs, speakers, and special educational activities. We encourage you to find the time to take advantage of the amazing opportunities to learn and find friends with similar interests. Whether you seek parenting advice or spirituality, the chance to finally learn Hebrew, or celebrate your adult b’nai mitzvah, the Adult Education committee has worked hard to find something for everyone.
We are pleased to announce the return of the popular Sunday morning series, “Exploring the World Of Judaism.” With the continued support of a grant from the Newton and Rochelle Becker Charitable Trust and Jewish LearningWorks, there will be 14 Sunday morning lectures covering a wide range of topics.
Our Levine Lecture is expanding this year to be a two-part lectureship: John Rothmann will join us in late November to discuss the recent elections and how our politics will impact the Middle East. The second lecture in March will be a two part discussion entitled Jews on Trial, looking at some of the most famous Jewish trials over the past 100 years.
You may contact Cady Burstein, Chair of the Adult Education Committee at or Patty Cruz at the Shir Hadash office at , 358-1751, ext 7.
We invite you to check out the links below for more details about these programs.
