Welcome to the 2008-2009 Opportunities for Adult Learning

For the upcoming year 2008-2009, or 5769 on the Jewish calendar, we will be offering some favorite ongoing classes from the past as well as some exciting new offerings.

We will once again be holding the Adult B'nai class culminating in a group B'nai Mitzvah on May 9, 2009.

For those of you who love movies and film, our annual Scholar-in-Residence will be focused on Jewish Themes in Movies.

If you enjoy combining Jewish learning with a weekend in the woods, check out the Temple Retreat scheduled for April 2009.

CLASSES

Adult B'nai Mitzvah
Sunday mornings 9:00 - 11:20 am Starting October 12, 2008
Every Sunday except vacations.
The Adult B'nai Mitzvah ceremony will take place on May 9, 2009.

Beginner and Advanced Hebrew Classes
Classes will begin in the Winter. Day and Time TBD.

Beginners will focus on the basics of reading Hebrew in "Learn to Read" Hebrew and will then move on to "Prayerbook Hebrew". The Advanced class will work on Biblical translation, focusing on Bereishit (Genesis); they will also use a textbook for grammar and vocabulary review.
