Community Shabbat Service

Date: Saturday, January 22, 2011
Time: 10:30 am
Location: Sanctuary

In honor of Tu Bish’vat, the New Year of the Trees, we will be celebrating Shir Hadash’s CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program on Saturday, January 22 with a special service and luncheon.

CSA members Margie Freedman and Jane Hiatt and our CSA chair, Kristine Goldberg, will speak on why they have joined a CSA and how this relates to their spiritual outlooks on preserving creation.

This short, lively service will be followed by a potluck lunch and recipes with produce from our CSA boxes which have ranged from apples to zucchini.

The Shir Hadash CSA is unique as there is no membership fee and no obligation to buy weekly. You can decide each Monday if the box of items is useful to you, and receive your box on Tuesday.

To register for the CSA, go to http://csa.farmigo.com/join/jporganics.

RSVP by Wednesday, January 19, for the luncheon by contacting Nadine at 408-358-1751 x5 or Nadine@shirhadash.org and let us know how many are attending and what you would like to bring.
