Shir Hadash Partcipates in National Outreach Event

In December 1996, Rabbi Yoffie, President of the Union for Reform Judaism, was approached by the National Jewish Outreach Program for his endorsement of Shabbat Across America and Canada (SAA/C). His endorsement of the program, along with the endorsements of his counterparts from other Jewish movements, transformed SAA/C into a monumental event that is eagerly anticipated by synagogues across North America. Year after year, the knowledge that tens of thousands of Jews of all denominations are unified in participating in one Shabbat celebration is a source of great inspiration for clergy, members and guests.

On March 4, 2011, Shabbat Across America and Canada will be celebrating its Fifteenth Anniversary. After fifteen incredible years, SAA/C is still going strong, and Congregation Shir Hadash will be participating in this evening with a Shabbat Dinner and special welcoming service. Please join us for this golden opportunity to celebrate Jewish unity across denominational differences.

Filled with camp-style music and hand motions, our No Shush Shabbat is led by song leader and guitarist Angela Gold, the No Shush Shabbat features a 'hands-free siddur.'
In addition to worship, this 45 minute long service includes a story, birthday blessings, and quiz show style game.

No Shush Shabbat service is preceded by an affordable, family friendly dinner at 5:45 pm. Please RSVP by Thursday to Nadine@shirhadash.org or (408) 358-1751 x5.

Everyone is welcome.
