| Time: | 10:30 am - 11:45 am |

For many years a group of women of diverse ages have gathered monthly to study and discuss topics relating to women and Judaism. Several years ago we read Yiddish Women’s Short Stories and had a wonderfully rich experience.
This year we will be reading and discussing Israeli Women’s Short Stories written by women born in the 1930’s- 1960’s, in Israel and in the Diaspora. Most of these stories were written originally in Hebrew, several in Russian, and one in Arabic.
The primary book we will be using will be Dreaming the Actual Contemporary Fiction and Poetry by Israeli Women Writers, edited by Miriyan Glazer. We will also draw on material from Risa Domb’s two books, New Women’s Writing from Israel and Contemporary Israeli Women’s Writing.
Fee: Book cost
This class is co-sponsored by Brandeis Women.
