We welcome both members and non-members who have some familiarity with the chanting of the Torah or Haftarah portions and would like to develop their skills further.
A reading knowledge of Hebrew is required.
In this class you will:
* Learn how to chant Megillat Esther.
* Learn Esther trope and the many detours that occur uniquely in the chanting of this text.
* Discuss the philosophy behind the f the particular way this book of the Bible is chanted.
We will share our knowledge with the congregation at Purim services on Saturday, March 19, 2011.
