Guest Speaker Gideon Lustig, the Deputy Consul General of Israel, will be speaking on Friday evening July 20 at our 8pm Shabbat Service. His topic will be “Tikkun Olam, Fixing the World One Child at a Time: Israel’s Humanitarian Actions in the World." He will feature a photographic presentation, "Scenes from Haiti."
Gideon Lustig is the Deputy Consul General of Israel for the Pacific Northwest region. In his previous position at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lustig worked in the Division of Economic Affairs, helping to bolster Israel's economic relations with Eastern European nations.
Prior to his diplomatic career, Mr. Lustig served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces for ten years, with a final rank of Major. Mr. Lustig graduated with honors from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies, and has specialized in Muslim extremism and terrorism.
Gideon Lustig is married to Nufar, has a daughter, Shakked and a baby son Yannai.
