Youth Groups
Shir Hadash Youth Groups foster friendship amongst the congregation’s children and teenagers by providing a fun and safe setting for our kids to come together to engage in exciting and meaningful programs. Events combine social activities with Jewish content, with a focus on the Jewish value of tikkun olam, repairing the world, and holiday celebrations. serves as the SHAGY youth advisor and Jodi Muirhead serves as the Member-at-Large overseeing our Youth program.
Congregation Shir Hadash is the proud home of three youth groups:
- Club 345 welcomes 3rd–5th graders
- JSHAGY welcomes 6th–8th graders
- SHAGY welcomes all 9th–12th graders
Club 345
Club 345 meets several times during the school year, usually immediately following Religious School. Activities planned for this year include:
- Skyhigh Jump
- miniature golf
- Chanukah Party
- Chocolate Seder

JSHAGY
JSHAGY events usually occur on Sunday afternoons and are a great way to end the weekend! Come and connect with your Jewish peers! Upcoming programs this year include:
- Bowling for Tzedakah
- Chanukah Party and Latke making
- Hiking
- Skyhigh Jump

SHAGY
SHAGY (Shir HAdash Youth Group) is our youth program for high school students (9th–12th grade). Through SHAGY, our teens will plan a calendar filled with both fun and meaningful events and have an opportunity to explore their Judaism in an informal and engaging way.
SHAGY holds social events about once a month, usually on Sunday evenings.
- Dinner and Drive-in movie night
- Havdalah on the Beach
- Mitzvah Day
- Purim Carnival
SHAGY is part of NFTY, the North American Federation of Temple Youth. Through regional conclaves, inter-chapter events, and international conventions SHAGY offers the chance to meet Reform Jewish teens from across the Bay Area and all over the world.
