High Holy Days 5772: Sukkot and Simchat Torah
The High Holiday season continues through Sukkot and Simchat Torah. Opportunities to eat in our congregational Sukkah include dinner for LGBT members and friends on Thursday, October 13; potluck dinner open to all on Friday, October 14; Young Adult and Young Families appetizers and wine on Saturday, October 15; dinner for new members on Sunday, October 16; dinner for B’nai Mitzvah families on Monday, October 17; and a teen dinner on Tuesday, October 18. There will also be Torah and Thai in the Sukkah on Wednesday, October 19, at 6:00 pm, preceding the Simchat Torah Service.
Simchat Torah will be celebrated with dancing and rejoicing on Wednesday night, October 19, at 7:15 pm. Joel Nelson and his band will join us for our lively hakafot as we dance with our Torahs. Simchat Torah Yizkor services will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 20. New names inscribed in the memorial wall will be dedicated in a short ceremony following the service.
