Congregation Shir Hadash and the Jewish Women's Conference Explore Spirituality
Berkeley, CA May 19, 2005 - Congregation Shir Hadash has joined
with the Bay area Jewish Community in supporting the upcoming
Jewish Women's Conference as a Supporting Organization. The
conference, Spirituality In Our Lives, will be held on Sunday,
July 10 at Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco.
Anita Diamant, best selling author of The Red Tent is set to
inspire attendees as the keynote speaker at the conference.
Over 20 teachers of Jewish spirituality and practice will guide
attendees as they delve deeper into their spiritual practice or
explore Jewish Spirituality from a new perspective.
"Jewish women find meaning in the tradition in various ways and
each path is different" says Nan Fink Gefen, co-director of
Chochmat HaLev an Independent Center for Jewish Meditation. "The
conference will celebrate the diverse way we connect to our
roots".
The conference will open at 8:00am Sunday morning and will
continue through the closing ceremony, ending at 6:00pm.
Attendees can choose from 17 workshops including "Developing
Innovative Family Rituals" with Chana Andler, "Spiritual
Eldering" with Rabbi Debora Kohn-Lerner and "Questions about
Gender in a Post-Modern World" with Maggid Jhos Singer
