High Holy Days: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If you have young children:

Babysitting is available during evening and morning services. Make your reservations now. Advance registration is required. Cost is $15 per session.

Family Services will be held at 3:30 pm on Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur, at Shir Hadash, and are open to all; no Community Pass required. 

If you have school-aged children:

The Religious School Programwhich parallels the morning service, will be at Sacred Heart Church on Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur. Advance registration is required.

If any issues come up for your children regarding missing school on Yom Kippur, contact Rabbi Aron or JCRC Director Diane Fisher at 408-357-7504.

If you have teens:

There will be a Parallel Teen Program at Sacred Heart Church on both Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur.

If you've never been to High Holy Days before:

Consider coming to S'lichot on Saturday evening, September 1, at 10 pm. This short, moving service introduces the High Holy Day themes in a simpler setting. A program at 8 pm precedes the service.

Looking for a change of pace?

Join us at Vasona Park, Circle Group Area, in Los Gatos, for outdoor informal Shabbat Morning Services, followed by Tashlich and brunch, on Saturday, September 15th, beginning at 10:30 am.

Order extra prayerbooks and Community Passes (tickets) from the Temple office. Security considerations require us to ask you to present your tickets to the ushers for each service.
