Shir Shabbat Service

Join us for the first Shir Shabbat of the new Jewish year. At these cozy services, congregants share their passion for a meaningful Shabbat as they lead the service, the music, read Torah and Haftarah and share a short drash. It’s a great way to get to know some Shir Hadash regulars and to experience a variety of prayer styles. It will be a fun, familiar and joyful service.

The October 6 service will be led by Linda Allen, music by Mark Allen, accompanied by Debbie Coutant on drums and Diana Joseph on mandolin. For this first service, we want to try something new. If you play an instrument and would like to join in on some of the music, bring your instrument that day, all are welcome--harmonica, recorder, flute, guitar, banjo, violin, whatever (bring a mute for brass instruments). Need music?  Email Linda@4allen.org and we’ll send you music for some of the melodies we are planning that day. Let’s make some joyful noise to celebrate the beginning of the year.

Immediately following the service everyone is invited to stay for a luncheon catered by House of Bagels.
