Compassion Cultivation Training

Compassion Cultivation Training

Sundays, 1-3 pm, Beginning September 23

The Caring Committee of Shir Hadash is proud to offer Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT), an educational program developed at Stanford Medical School to help people reduce stress in difficult situations, prevent burnout, feel more connected to others, and enhance their overall sense of well-being.  It is particularly helpful for people in high-stress occupations, but has since spread beyond its origins as a stress reduction program for the general public.

Join this 8-week program every Sunday from September 23 to November 11 from 1 to 3 pm at Shir Hadash, for weekly lectures, discussions, meditation, and communication exercises.  The fee is $250 for the entire program. Continuing education credit is available for nurses, psychologists, social workers, therapists, and marriage and family counselors (LCSWs and MFTs) for an additional fee of $50 (payable to Spiritual Competency Resource Center and mailed to Shir Hadash).

Class size is limited to 20 students, so be sure to register early. If this class fills up, we will start a wait list for the next class.

The facilitator for this educational program is Shir Hadash member Kelly Weisberg, Ph.D., J.D.

Kelly is a lawyer and sociologist who is in the CCT Teacher Certification Program at Stanford University School of Medicine’s Compassion Institute.
