CONFIRMATION

The tenth grade Confirmation class is a unique part of our Kulanu program directed and taught by Rabbi Schwartz. 

Confirmation was established by the Reform movement in the early 19th century to compensate for Bar Mitzvah not being co-ed at that time, and also the changes in society that lead to 13 no longer being a transition to adulthood. It was established at age 16 which at that time marked the end of gymnasium (high school).

Our Confirmation program centers around the students developing their own individual theologies and relationship with Judaism and includes field trips, a mentoring program, and a special service at the end of the year on the festival of Shavuot.
