About

During this time of Sheltering in Place, Shir Hadash has been able to quickly pivot to become an “online synagogue” — but we miss gathering together and we miss seeing you! In an effort to build community and commemorate this time in our lives, we are introducing Porch Portraits.

How it Works

Porch Portraits are now held at Shir Hadash! To maximize our ability to reach the majority of our members we will be offering our portrait services at Shir Hadash - this allows those who live in outlying areas, or areas where we could not get a photographer out to, to be included in our program.

Please register for a time slot by visiting this sign-up page. Our photographer will be set up and ready for you at the Shir Hadash campus. Simply arrive at your appointed time all ready for your photoshoot! The entire process will take less than 20 minutes. The photographer takes all photos from a safe social distancing 10 feet.

.

The photographer will shoot 2–3 poses plus a tight shot (head & shoulder), and the head & shoulder photo will be uploaded to our secure online Member Directory thereby enhancing our community and allowing us to “see” one another easily. You may prepare for your Porch Portrait however you would like — dressed for a nice family portrait, wearing a costume, holding signs (e.g., #ShirHadashSmiles or #InThisTogether) — it is your choice. The Porch Portrait is free. If you would like digital copies of your Porch Portrait, including all poses, we are suggesting a small donation to the New Song Relief Fund at Shir Hadash. Porch Portraits are a way of celebrating our community and to virtually join together with our smiling faces!
