NY: JOIN OUR DEBATE TEAM: ENGAGING, CHALLENGING, AND FUN!

The Maimonides Moot Court Competition - is a debate by Hadar. Sharp Jewish youth from across the country connect at this event for a meaningful debate! Shir Hadash is sending a four-student team of high school students (9th-11th grade) to participate in this Hadar debate. Jewish teens will tackle modern-day ethical questions using Jewish tradition and wisdom.

In advance of the trip, our four-student team will prepare in California as an elective JET track.  We'll travel to New York for a Shabbaton, a weekend of connection with Jews from all different denominations. The weekend will culminate after Shabbat with the debate we've been working towards! 

The 2025-26 theme will be medical ethics and engage questions around whether one may risk their life in order to save the life of someone else, in addition to exploring the age at which one has informed consent to make that choice. The per-teen pricing below includes 3 nights of accommodations, all meals, ground transportation, and programming during the trip.

These are the following requirements to participate in the Moot Court Debate Team Trip:

• You must be registered for JET
• You must do the Debate JET Track from December through March
• You must attend 80% of the sessions. We look forward to learning together!
