Hello! My name is Mercedes Mendoza and I am the Director of the Shir Hadash Early Childhood Center (ECC). I have over 70 units in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis on Early Childhood Mental Health. My certificates include Positive Discipline Early Childhood Educator and Positive Discipline Parent Educator.

My Background

I have 11 years of experience working with children from birth through 6 years old with some elementary experience as well. In my years of research and experience, I have truly found that children learn best through play.

Teaching children the way they learn best, through play, is my passion and I have dedicated myself to creating an environment for children where they feel safe and respected. When a child feels safe and respected, possibilities are endless. 

About Me

About me personally, I have a daughter, Zariah, who is 8 years old. At home, we have a lizard (Darwin), a hamster (Daisy) and a dog (Donut). In our free time we love to relax and watch movies, go on outings and spend time with family. I am excited to be a part of this community. I look forward to getting to know you.
