I think my ancestors are from Poland.

Wouldn't it be fascinating to see if my relatives in Hungary are still alive?

My mother's family is from Russia, but I don't know where my father's family is from. 

This month we will have a special guest, Jeremy Frankel, President of the San Francisco Bay Area Jewish Genealogical Society (SFBAJGS), who will offer an introduction to the basics of Jewish genealogical research. From how to begin before even switching on your computer, to the now amazing smorgasbord of websites and databases you can access from the comfort of your home, learn how you can start to document your own family history. There will also be a historical overview showing what made our ancestors leave their homes for an unknown future. 

SFBAJGS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, preservation and distribution of Jewish genealogical knowledge and material, and the sharing of techniques and tools with others who may be searching their Jewish roots.  

We invite those with last names starting with A-L to bring dessert!

The program is open to everyone; however, advance registration is required as we provide a catered lunch. 

About: The Retirees Lunch and Learn, a group of seniors that has been meeting at Congregation Shir Hadash for 10 years, has grown to some 200 members, with monthly programs attracting 40 people or more. Join us for the chance to visit, eat lunch, and hear a speaker or program.

Cost: Friends and family are invited to participate and are asked to make a $5 donation towards the cost of lunch. This donation is collected at the door. Groups of members alternate bringing in dessert.
