We invite you to join us at this Shabbat service, all are welcome. The service will include a sermon from our clergy team and will also include a D'var Torah from Grayson and Emma Maybruck, who will become B'nai Mitzvah during the service. Let's celebrate together!

About Grayson

Grayson is an energetic middle-schooler. In school his favorite subject is math. He's passionate about sports and loves to play lacrosse on a club team where his role is defense on the team. He's been playing trumpet for 3 years and his favorite genre of music to play is jazz.

In his spare time he enjoys playing at Top Golf with friends and playing video games, as well as spending time with his family and with his black labrador Scarlet. Grayson's favorite thing about Shir Hadash is the people he meets here.

About Emma

Emma is a thoughtful and confident middle schooler - at school her favorite subject is English Language Arts, because she especially enjoys writing stories, expressing herself creatively, and reading. Emma has experience with both Boxing and with Fencing and next year she is looking forward to returning to Fencing as she especially likes the speed and agility involved in this sport.

She loves to draw and is involved in acting as well. Emma plays the flute, oboe, and hopes to soon also learn to play bass. Her favorite is the flute, and she enjoys playing a variety of music including from the show Alien Stage. Emma's favorite thing about Shir Hadash is working with Cantor.

Emma and Grayson's shared Torah portion is B'haalot'cha, in which Moses helps the Jewish people as they journey from Sinai and travel toward Israel, and Miriam is punished for speaking out against Moses.
