become a friendly visitor 

Members of the Congregation are invited to become Friendly Visitor Volunteers through the Caring Committee. Training will be offered in a three-part series led by Rabbi Melanie Aron, Linda Allen, and Eleanor Intrator, with guest speakers. The training will include further explanation of the program and the responsibilities of volunteers as well as a chance to study traditional Jewish teachings on the subject of Bikur Cholim, visiting the sick. We will also do training on listening, setting boundaries, confidentiality and on some of the procedures for this program. We hope participants will be able to join us for all three sessions. 

Friendly Visitors will be assigned a shut-in to visit approximately once a month for an hour. The first visit will be made with a member of our clergy and quarterly check-in meetings will be held to share experiences and receive additional training.
