Antisemitism has been called the "old-new hatred"; it shifts with the times but never disappears. What is "new" and what is "old" about today's antisemitism, compared to previous generations? What tactics can be used to combat it?

Rabbi David Sandmel, Director of Interreligious Engagement for the ADL, has led interreligious efforts on behalf of the Reform Judaism movement and has spearheaded Catholic-Jewish dialogue in Chicago. He serves as the Anti-Defamation League's Director of Interfaith Affairs.

Exploring the World of Judaism is a program of Congregation Shir Hadash and Jewish LearningWorks and is supported in party by the Newton and Rochelle Becker Charitable Trust and the Myra Reinhard Family Foundation. If you would like to receive weekly email reminders and descriptions of each talk, please send your name and email address to ExploringWJ@jewishlearningworks.org and specify CSH/EWJ.

ADULT EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The Shir Hadash Adult Education Committee meets about every two months to plan the Adult Education calendar and coordinate educational events, speakers, retreats and classes. When needed, we establish sub-committees to work on specific educational programs and events. We do exciting and important volunteering work for our community. If you are interested to join us or learn more about the work we do, please reach out to Itzik Nir at board-adulteducation@shirhadash.org.
