Muslim and Jewish migrations to Palestine and other parts of the Ottoman Empire

Jacob Daniels, a historian who is engaged in doctoral research and teaching at Stanford, will introduce us to migrations of Muslims and Jews from the 19th century onwards. We will learn about population displacements and how differences were negotiated within and between these communities. Attention will be given to the roots of population dynamics in the current Middle Eastern environment. Jacob will share fascinating sources on human interactions of this period.
