Join us for an afternoon of Jewish music, as our choir reprises a few pieces that they sang in the Bay Area Choral Fest in February and as we honor Jewish women composers. 50 years ago, Cantor Barbara Ostfeld became the first woman ordained as a cantor, paving the way for many female cantors since, including our Cantor. In honor of the 50 years of women being ordained as cantors, we will highlight some of the beautiful compositions that are coming from women composers. We will hear selections from Debbie Friedman, Elana Arian, Cantor Rachelle Nelson, Cantor Benjie Ellen Schiller, Peri Smilow, Cantor Natalie Young, Andrea Jill Higgins and Rabbi Miriam Margles.

Music has the power to transport us to many different places, evoking memories and emotions. Our volunteer choir has been working for several months preparing this music, we hope that you will enjoy and appreciate their hard work by joining us on Sunday, June 8 at 4pm.
