Kabbalat Shabbat with Dinner!

We look forward to seeing everyone of all ages at our low-stress casual schmooze, service, and dinner on Friday. It’s the perfect way to end your week and kick off the weekend with our Sweater Weather Shabbat. 

Dinner: Join our Chefs, Rachel and Sam, and their cadre of volunteers for a camp-y meal after services. Plan ahead - Reservations are required by Wednesday 11/12!

Our menu is vegetarian and you may choose to make your dinner dairy-free, gluten free, and/or vegan

  • Roasted squash and spinach salad
  • A Baked Potato and Chili Bar featuring: 

            -Shawarma cauliflower with spicy tahini

            -Coconut curried chickpeas with pumpkin and lime

            -Harissa and white bean chili

            -Black bean and sweet potato chili

            -Customize these with tons of options such as olives, tomato, onion, and more

  • A special camp-y dessert will be served during the Tisch, which will start at 8:15 after dinner. Learn more about A Very Camp-y Tisch here

If you plan on sticking around for Tisch, please be sure to indicate the correct option when registering below.

The schmooze is in the foyer/lobby of the main building, and the service is in the Sanctuary, following the service is dinner in the Oneg room. During services, there is quiet activity area for children ages 0-5. For all ages there is something for everyone as we enjoy this community time and welcome Shabbat.

Together for song, service, and food is the perfect way to warm our spirits even if the weather outside is chilly.

  • 5:30pm: Casual schmooze with wine and cheese, plus games set out for the kids.
  • 6pm: Shabbat Service - blankets and quiet activities will be set out for the children.
  • Dinner (immediately after service) - register below - $12 for youth 0-12, $16 for adults for whom price might be a barrier otherwise, $24 per adult attendee, and $36 per adult attendee, includes donation. For questions and concerns about pricing, please reach out to Shanda@shirhadash.org.

A Very Camp-y Tisch
This Shabbat dinner is extra special, as immediately following it will be A Very Camp-y Tisch with Cantor Devorah and Rabbi Rafi. The Tisch is free, open to all, and will be held from 8:15-9:30.
