"The Only Woman in the Room" by Marie Benedict  is a historical novel about Hedy Lamarr, who escaped the Nazis to become a legendary actress in Hollywood and invent a scientific system that helped revolutionize modern communication.

Get Involved

• Read the book! Books are available to borrow from local public libraries. There are also a limited number of books to borrow from the Congregation Shir Hadash office.
• If you know of a local book group, invite them to read and come to the One Book discussion. Local organizations or book groups can add their names as  co-sponsors by contacting: office@shirhadash.org. (Co-sponsorship requires no monetary contribution, just encouragement for book group members to participate.)
