A Time to Cry and A Time to Scream

South Bay Vigil: Crying, Mourning, and Raising Our Voices in Community. All in the South Bay community are invited to join the vigil this evening, held on the Shir Hadash campus at: 20 Cherry Blossom Lane, Los Gatos, CA 95032

For 331 days, our hearts have been heavy with the stories of Israeli hostages, enduring unthinkable conditions with unwavering hope for a peaceful return. Despite the desperate pleas from their families and warnings from security officials that military pressure cannot release them all safely, the worst nightmare became a reality.

This past weekend, the devastating news of the execution of six brave souls in Hamas captivity shook us all. Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Carmel Gat, Alex Lobanov, Eden Yerushalmi, Ori Danino, and Almog Sarusi were taken from us far too soon, their potential unfulfilled. As we mourn Hersh, Carmel, Alex, Eden, Ori, and Almog, we also stand in solidarity with their families and the families of those that remain in Gaza saying loudly and clearly: Bring Them Home Alive!

This vigil is a space for us to share our grief, our frustration, and our hopes for a future where such losses are no more.

Co-sponsored by the South Bay Jewish community, including: Congregation Sinai, Temple Emanu-El, Congregation Beth David, Congregation Emeth, Congregation Shir Hadash, JCRC Bay Area, Jewish Silicon Valley, Yavneh Day School, Jewish Community Center of Santa Cruz, Temple Beth El and UnXeptable.
