With great sadness we share news of the death of our member, Marjorie Hart, on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
 
Marjorie joined Shir Hadash in 2009 and from the moment that she walked into our doors, she found a Jewish home and a community. Marjorie participated in many different aspects of our congregation. She became an adult Bat Mitzvah in 2011. She was an active part of our Shir Shabbat community, reading Torah and sharing her interpretations of many Torah portions over the years. Marjorie participated in several Purim Shpiels. Marjorie really found a calling in working with our SHOC committee as well as joining PACT. Social Justice was an important value to Marjorie. 
 
Over the years, Marjorie had a number of health issues, but she never let it stop her from doing those things that she loved and from living her life to the fullest.
 
She will be missed by her daughter Shoshana Helman, MD, and her son Dan McGuire, and the many members of Shir Hadash who had the pleasure to know and interact with her.
 
A shiva minyan will be held on Tuesday, July 13, at 6:15 pm at our Memorial Wall Garden at Shir Hadash as well as on Zoom. A memorial service at Shir Hadash will be held with a tentative date for August 8, time TBD.
