Let's look at some of the outstanding films from around 1980 with an eye on Jewish themes, actors, and directors.  

Join us for Saturday Night at the Movies circa 1980. We will watch pivotal scenes from popular movies of that year including Chariots of Fire, Private Benjamin, The Jazz Singer 2, The Chosen, and consider how the portrayal of Jews on the Silver Screen has changed over the past 40 years. Snacks will be served and we may challenge your memories with some 1980 trivia so come prepared.

We'll start off the evening with Havdalah at 7:30 followed by the films beginning at 7:45.

This event is open to all, however we request a registration so we know how many people will be attending.

ADULT EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The Shir Hadash Adult Education Committee meets about every two months to plan the Adult Education calendar and coordinate educational events, speakers, retreats and classes. When needed, we establish sub-committees to work on specific educational programs and events.
